The Town Board of Franklin will drive the town roads on May 8, 2026 starting at 4pm.

The Town Board of Franklin will hold two public hearings starting at 6:30 PM on Monday May 11, 2026, at the Franklin Town Hall, N1885 County Road AB, Denmark, WI 54208.

The first meeting is to consider a Conditional Use Permit for a farm residence at parcel number 31.008.20.04. The Hearing is to hear testimony regarding application for a Conditional Use Permit.

The Planning Commission recommended the Farm Residence Conditional Use for approval with the following conditions.

One, wetland determinations are the responsibility of the applicant.

Two, A driveway permit must be obtained and construction meet those specifications

Sanitary permits will be obtained for sewage disposal

Residential building will be placed as shown on the application

Landowner is aware that this is a farming community and accepts farming practices and their sometimes seemingly disturbances

All standards, setbacks, etc of the A1 District will be followed

The second meeting is to consider a Land Division, Rezone and Conditional use permit for a farm residence at parcel number 31.008.23.132. The hearing is to hear testimony regarding application.

The Land Division Application is asking to make a lot approximately 8 acres in size. The reason for the land division is to allow their son to build a Farm Residence on the 8 acres. See definition Farm Residence page 10-93 which states “A parent or child of an owner or operator of the Farm”. The son also helps with the main farming operation

It is recommended that the Land Division which would be created by extending the South Lot Line of the existing  residential lot (31 008 23.131) to the west boundary of lot #31 008 23.132 and then extending back to Hwy AB be approved.

It is recommended that this newly created lot be rezoned from the present A1District to the A2 District. A2 continues the Ag zoning classifications. The remaining acres (approximately 28) in lot 31 008 23.132 would then be rezoned to A3

It is recommended that a Conditional Use Permit be issued for a Farm Residence on the new A2 parcel (again see the definition of Farm Residence and Farm) with the following conditions

One, all setbacks and yard requirements for the A2 District must be met

All county septic requirements must be met

Driveway Permit (Kewaunee County)

Wetland Determinations are responsibility of the land owner

The Town of Franklin Planning Commission will hold a Public Meeting on Wednesday, May 13th, at the Franklin Town Hall at 6 PM. The purpose of the meeting is to consider an application for a Conditional Use to build a Farm Residence on a parcel in the SW1/4 of the SE1/4 of section 19, T22N-R23E. Property is owned by the Curran Spirituality Center. The Planning Commission then will make a recommendation to the Franklin Town Board.
